12 News NBC Phoenix visited Chandler in March to report on a program that gives parents the skills and strategies to help their young children develop the language and early skills they'll need to be ready to learn to read when they start kindergarten.

"Story School, a 12-session program through Read On Chandler and Make Way for Books, focuses on children from birth to age 5 by coaching the adults in their lives. The program specifically targets families who may not have access to preschool, filling a critical gap during the years when early language and literacy skills are developing fastest."
