Literacy is the key to student achievement, a strong workforce, and Arizona’s future. Research shows that students who don’t learn to read proficiently by third grade are likely to fall behind in the later grades and are four times more likely to leave school without a high school diploma or the skills and abilities needed for success in the workforce.
Read On Arizona is a statewide early literacy initiative to advance the strategies, policies, and investments needed for all our children to learn to read at grade level and be successful in school. Partners work together, in coordination and alignment with shared goals and priorities, to avoid duplication and maximize impact.
The Read On Arizona Collaborative Fund helps ensure the long-term sustainability of our efforts. Funds are also used to provide grants to Read On Communities to support local literacy solutions aligned with our strategic priorities.
