Read On Tempe

Tempe

Read On Tempe is a collaborative effort to improve reading achievement in the City of Tempe, particularly with our most vulnerable children. Early literacy achievement is a priority for our city. Our children are our future, and the economic and social vibrancy of our community depends on their academic achievement. Read On Tempe’s vision is that all children will have access to quality early literacy experiences and environments and have the opportunity to become proficient readers.

We have a broad base of public, private, civic, philanthropic, and education partners who are working together to improve language and literacy outcomes for Arizona’s children from birth to age 8, increase the confidence, skills, and knowledge of parents so they can take an active role in their child’s early literacy development, and increase access to books for low-income families.
